few things

I love the show So_you_think_you_can_dance. And the other night the 10 contestants left had to perform a solo to John Mayer's Waiting_on_the_world_to_change. Each contestant was wearing a t-shirt that had a peace sign on the front and on the back they wrote words like "unity" or "peace" and so on and so forth.

I guess people were all up in arms about these solos saying that they are anti-American and that the show should be ashamed of itself. If the people would listen to the song... the song isn't anti-American. If anything, the song would be anti-war but pro-soldier. And as the one producer/judge of the show stated... you can be pro-soldier and anti-war. That they are two very different things.

I would have to agree...

Last week someone I know told me that I looked like Lindsey_Lohan. I don't know - perhaps, but probably only because of the blonde hair. I am glad I don't have her driving abilities or DUI issues.

Maybe if places didn't serve underage people, regardless of who they are... some of them wouldn't be in this mess.

Oh well... Off to get ready to see The_Blue...

Another busy weekend...

Yet another busy weekend, sort of... It all started Friday at noon when some of us took a little road trip to attend a funeral visitation. As we drove to our destination... we passed many nudie bars. Including one that was a DRIVE THRU. I was amazed.

Saturday, I went to see the Transformers movie. What can I say I loved the cartoon when I was a kid, so naturally I thought I would love this as well. Despite the fact that my favorite Bumblebee was no longer a VW Bug... I did really enjoy the movie (at least they still let him have his blue eyes!!!)

After the movie, I went to see my step-dad's band (You know THE BLUE) perform... see this is me at the bar where they played Saturday...
I was even dancing and everything... and the band was SOOO very good that a woman even fainted. (ok that's not the real reason why she passed out - but someone did pass out - which was kind of scary) That was a long day... I didn't get home until 3AM.

Sunday, I went to see the vintage grand prix at Schenely Park. It's a lot of fun and I like seeing the little cars... See the blue one in this picture... the headlights are painted like eyes - and I believe that is the tongue sticking out - ha ha

Alright so that's about all I got to say right now... or all I have time to say right now... other exciting stuff tomorrow.

things

A few years ago I took a newspaper writing class. It was actually a really good learning experience. The one thing that was stressed over and over again was to make sure that your sentences said what you mean. Make sense? Don't worry I have an example... I came prepared...

Yesterday I was reading the story about the plane crash in Florida... the first version of it had this sentence... "At least one of those killed was a small child, Sanford Fire Chief Gerard Ransom told reporters." Are you kidding me? That sounds like well yeah one kid was killed or something... I think a better way that this could have been written is something more like "it is known that one of those killed was a small child..."

Another thing that got my attention yesterday while reading various things (Harpers Weekly this time)

"President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin rode Segway scooters together." I don't know - but I think there should be more important things that these two guys do other than ride Segways...

It's hot out there...

Yet another scorching hot day in the 'burgh... I love it! ah ha

Not too much excitement going on really - The weekend was good... Sunday BBQ'd with the_blue (BTW they have a song up on the website now)... and that was fun. The rest of the weekend was pretty jammed packed too that I didn't get to see the new transformers movie yet. Which I really do want to go see since I grew up watching the cartoon - back in the day. I hope the movie lives up to my expectations.

Something I saw on the news this morning has me a little irritated. How is it that people that have multiple DUI's are still out on the road? Take for instance, this person here... SEVEN DUI's!!!! What the hell?! People died, and he is out on the road STILL after having SEVEN DUI's.

I can't even say much else because I am just so disturbed by that one.

Why must if feel like a Monday today...

The only problem with having off yesterday, today simply feels like Monday to me - and lets face it - no one needs two Monday's in a week... ha ha

My 4th was pretty good... although I think I ate way too much and there was a near fire incident when some hedges almost caught fire - thankfully the flames were noticed and the hedges were saved without the fire department having to come or anything too crazy...

Now onto another topic... this whole Scooter business... he sold out our nations top secret information - and he doesn't even have to do jail time? Are you freaking kidding me?! I'm sorry, you should be locked up for a very long time... because that is a crime that is unforgivable in my eyes... I was even using the comparison that Paris Hilton did 23 days for DUI/driving on suspended license - how many days did Scooter do?? (you know for telling the world who are undercover agents are)...

Please don't get me wrong though - I don't think drinking and driving is OK by any means... if you get a DUI - your ass should be jailed for a while... perhaps it will teach you a lesson as not to do it again.

I think I am just going to go get some coffee and keep telling myself it's THURSDAY!!! ha ha

Have a good one!

Monday Monday, wishing it were Sunday... ha ha

This weekend, not a lot happening. I went to see my step-dad's band play and there is now an original song posted and some video of them up on their myspace page... just click on the word band above and it will take you to them... if you know, you want to check it out...

Oh and this whole mess in Scotland has me a little freaked out since two of my friends departed for Scotland this past weekend... UGH! I am sure they are safe and sound and missed it all - but still...

Can you believe though that people are getting all pissed off because security and random checks are happening now here in the US... adding addition security and such. But here is the thing, search me, search my car - I don't care as long as it means I am going to be safe going to and from. Are those who are so opposed to this hiding something or do they just not value life?
